Richard is an Associate in the Hong Kong office, specialising in investments in big data, machine learning, and blockchain. Richard brings direct experience from within the financial technology startup scene and consultative data science roles across financial institutions.
Before joining Arbor, Richard led the implementation of innovative technology solutions to advance risk and fraud processes within Tier 1 banks and large insurance companies. Enjoying client facing roles, Richard has leveraged his knowledge of the vast data ecosystem to progress data and technology capabilities throughout Asia, the UK and the US. He is also an active member in the blockchain, bitcoin and Ethereum communities in Hong Kong.
Prior to his joining the realms of financial technology and investments, Richard was part of a theoretical physics research team at Université Pierre et Marie Curie focusing on special cases of black holes and their applications to String Theory. Richard holds an M.Sc with Distinction in Mathematics from King's College London and graduated from Durham University with a B.Sc in Mathematics.
